We've gotten into a custom of going on some really cool hike or adventure for birthdays since we moved here and I was determined to make Steve's 28th bday one to remember. I've definitely slowed down in the past few weeks and I'll admit that even very short hikes leave me completely winded and exhausted (I guess I was slightly delusional thinking I'd be able to keep going right up until our little son made his grand entrance...) Being 8 months pregnant now, I need to take it a little slower. Never the less, I wanted to do something fun and at the very least scenic for Steve's big day.

I made reservations for dinner at the Grand Canyon lodge.. basically this amazing structure that overlooks the canyon with big towering glass windows that make you feel like you are eating right no the edge. :-) It was a success. He was very happy and it was a beautiful day and evening. We even found some new peaks we have never been to at the North Rim and can't wait to go back with our son when he's born.
