:: Harry makes a friend ::

Steve and I took Harry up to Best Friends for the unveiling of "ARK," and art installation celebrating Best Friends animal rescue following Hurricane Katrina by resident artist, Cyrus Mejia.

Harry met a burrow who seemed to like him a lot. It was nice to just get out of the house for a bit and mingle with our friends.

We thought the festivities would tire the little bugger out, but nope. He had me up til 3:30 and then when I couldn't stay awake one second longer, Steve took over until 7 AM. Finally he passed out for all of two hours, but I got these cute shots. ;-)

:: Chillin' with dad ::

Harry's new favorite thing to do on the weekends is lounge with dad on the comfy disc chair. Today they watched "Terror Train", great movie for a 3 week old :-) But he seemed to like it.

He also likes chillin' on the couch with all the puppies. Check out the rare shot of Tae with Harry.

Here's Annie "protecting" Harry from the evil Moose. "Stay away from my baby." (honestly, I really think she believes Harry is "her" baby.)

Tae looking sad "But I thought I was your baby??"

:: Cowboy up, Y'all ::

Mackie loves Harry. He's always very concerned if Hars is crying or fussing. And he will furiously protect Hars from cats or Gandalf. :-)

We took Harry to Kanab's annual Western Legends extravaganza. Basically a bunch of old western movie stars and such come back to Kanab for a cowboy weekend full of gun shooting and bull riding and your typical westerns-ish activities. Fun, huh? Anyhow, I think we got there a little late because all the vendors were packing up their goods and the food tents were all shut down! Blah! We'll have to go earlier next year and maybe Harry will get to ride a pony or something.

:: Three weeks! ::

Harry is three weeks old today and getting bigger by the second! Some new stuff this week: bath time. Harrison gets his first real tub bath and hates it. I think it's his new worst thing ever. The list goes like this: "Things I hate: #1 Baths #2 Hiccups"

Awww.. okay seriously, this picture isn't even staged. Harry wakes up around 7 am, then he snoozes in bed with daddy til 7:30 or so each day. Too cute.

This is what I'm talkin about... bath time. Hars really hates baths. I felt like we were torturing the poor guy.

Harrison.. disgruntled, wet and naked... probably plotting his revenge.

All cleaned up and watching TV with dad. Thank God that's over :-)

OH. and one more thing.. in case you didn't see, I posted a new section on the "family" pages. It's Harry's page! So check it out. I put up pics from his birth.

:: What's worse then the pain of giving birth? ::

... going to your baby's first doctor's appointment. At least for me it was. Harry had to undergo a routine needle pricking for some test and I swear it took them 1/2 hour to complete the entire thing. Basically they had to prick his heel and get enough blood out of him to fill up all these circles on some cardboard sheet. He screamed the entire time. He couldn't even catch his breath, poor thing. I cried along with him. It was very traumatic!! :( Then to make things worse, Dr. B had to remove some fluid on his head that built up from being yanked around during delivery. He cried and cried for that too. Very emotional morning.

The good news is Harry now weighs 8.4 lbs!!! He left the hospital at 6 lbs 11 oz (down from his birth weight of 7 lbs 4.8 oz) and now is a whoppin' 8 lbs 4 oz! :) :) He is now sleeping... well.. like a baby.. trying to recover from the morning's trauma.

... and here's a picture of trouble... Mack and Gandalf.. looking mischevious as usual.

:: We didn't forget about these guys... ::

Our furry crew has really adapted well to the new addition. We are all excited to go out hiking again and exploring with everyone! In the meantime, the furkids have been lazy, enjoying a break from the Utah heat. Here they are:

Taebo

Gandalf

Mackie

Otis

Annie

...and Della

:: Harry goes to Arizona ::

Steve and I were both in need of a good cup o' joe this morning so we packed up little Harrison and went to visit our friends Woz and MDH who own Four Directions in Fredonia, AZ. They have the best coffee around!! Plus we knew they would love to see little memito in person :-) It felt good to get out of the house for a while and chit chat with the living again.

Looks like someone needs some coffee!! :)

:: Two weeks! ::

Harry is two weeks old today! I didn't think it was possible, but I love him more each day!

:: Starting him out early... ::

I've been trying to go to bed when Harry finishes his 9:30 PM feeding and Steve stays awake with him only to wake me when he needs to eat. I wondered what the two of them were doing while I was snoozing... I discovered that Steve is teaching Harry some of his gaming skills. I guess it's never too early :)

Here are two more cute pics of my son!

:: Best friends ::

Gandalf loves Harry!

Oh, and in response to my mom's question 'where's Tae?'
She is still getting used to Harry and is a little scared of him. :-) I'm sure we'll get some pics of them when she realizes he's harmless. Heh heh

Mack loves Harry, too.

:: A week old! ::

Harry is a week old! He's doing great! Just wanted to share a few more pictures. Harry had a few "firsts" this week. He had his first sponge bath (hated that!) and first walk up to the mailbox (LOVED that!) He has his days and nights all mixed up and likes to keep us up. Everytime I get up at night I just can't stop staring at him in disbelief that this little angel is mine! I love him so much!!

:: First days at home ::

It's so good to be home with Harry. I was discharged from the hospital on Sunday around 10 AM. We weren't sure what "home" would be like, with all the pets, and new responsibilities and most of all, no nurses to help! I am very happy to report that the first days have been great with our new son. He is the BEST!

On Monday he was circumsized and did very well with that. Here he is with Dr. Bowman, his pediatrician and also the best doctor in Kanab who delivered him :-) We love Dr. B!

The dogs and cats are all great with Harry. Gandalf has accepted the role as Harry's new best friend and sits by me every time I am nursing, or changing Harrison, or anytime he is crying or fussing Gandy is right there to make sure everything is cool. He also chases the cats away. ha!

So far (knock on wood) he is doing GREAT w/ sleeping and eating routine. I've actually managed to do laundry and eat a big spaghetti dinner with a small glass of champagne to celebrate.. and still have time to blog. He's a very happy baby and smiles a lot and is very alert. I am seriously insanely in love with this guy. I have the best family. Check out some new pics!

:: Introducing Harrison Glenn Williams ::

Our little son Harry was born on Thursday night, August 2 at 7:30 PM. He weighs 7 lbs 5 oz and is 21 inches long and he's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I love him so much and I can't even describe it.

I went in to the hospital at 8 AM on Thursday morning. I was dilated 4 cm and well on my way to having my baby in an easy, non-complicated manner... well, things changed a bit. My water was broken by Dr. Bowman around 8:30. By noon I hadn't progressed so he decided to induce my labor with IV meds. I opted for the epidural at this point (even though I had convinced myself that I could go natural... which maybe I could, but in hindsight this was the best decision I made). So, from 1:30 PM (induced) til around 5 PM I had dilated to the full 10 cm and was ready to push! I was so excited and ready (we really got to relax all afternoon since I felt no pain at all). When it came time to push, however, the doctor realized that he was positioned "sunny side up" and when coming through my pelvis he got stuck! I continued to try to push for over an hour but nothing was working to get him out. It was very very scary. The dr. tried to vacuum him out, use forceps, everything... no budging. So, around 6:30 PM I had to have an emergency c-section and Harry was born at 7:30. It was very traumatic for me, as most of you know my extreme phobia of hospitals, needles, etc. My labor went pretty much 180 degrees from how I imagined it. As I sit here typing this in my hospital bed, in lots of pain and trouble just sitting up, I look over at our son and I can't ever imagine not going through all of this for him. He is the most perfect and beautiful creation. I would do it all over in a heartbeat for him. In fact, even though it was scary and crazy, it really wasn't all that bad. I had the epidural so there was no pain. The pain came after the meds wore off.

He's doing great and is very alert and strong. He seems to recognize our voices and loves to just stare at us like he is trying to figure out what we are saying. He looks just like Steve. He has wide blue eyes and light blond hair. I can't believe how much he has stolen my heart already.

Here are a bunch of pictures. Sorry the email that got sent the other day was screwed up. Blame it on Hotmail :)
