My mom sent us a little package of goodies and included a book with some photos of me when I was growing up. Harry looks JUST LIKE ME. It was amazing to see. the pictures below are of me (left) and Harry (right) at 9 months. :) :)



Harry also decided it's very fun to give his mommy a heart attack and stand in his crib. I predict he'll be walking in a few weeks... or ... sooner?????

The Squaw Trail overlooks the whole town of Kanab. It's a really pretty and fun hike. Harry likes to go on adventures and really enjoyed the scene from our turn-around spot.

One of Harry's favorite things to do it knock down blocks. It's become a race against time, as Steve and I furiously try to build a super high tower... but usually Harry is too fast and knocks it down before we can get any height goin...





the cutest part of all of this.... is seen in the photo below: Harry closes his eyes very tight before knocking them down because he knows it's going to make a loud crash. SO CUTE! So smart!!!



I finally broke out the joggin' stroller... Harry loves the ride. It's much smoother and FASTER!

But, just for the record, MAMA is his FIRST word, and he's been saying THAT for a bunch of weeks now. SO THERE! :)

Harry hit a huge milestone this morning!! He pulled himself up onto the chair..... let go with one hand...... and then let go with the other hand! That's right, he was standing!!! It lasted all of 3 seconds but it was awesome!

It's getting WAY hard to keep Harry confined these days. He's ALL over the place, being a big kid and learning tons of new stuff.

He literally tried for 10 minutes to get this bottle out from under his leg. It was pretty funny to watch.



I looked over this afternoon and he was drinking from his sippy cup and I didn't even give it to him!! He just picked it up and knew what to do.. kinda.. yeh, it's upside down, but it still works!

Well, it's back to the daily grind. Gma and Pap pap left and now I'm sad. It was really great having them here (NO -- not just because we got a little break from the hecticness of late!) and we are all bummed that the week went so fast. Don't worry we won't be living in Utah forever so I am very much looking forward to being able to see my mom and dad every day. It's incredibly hard to be away from family. My mom is my best friend and having her leave was almost intolerable :( :( :( LOVE YOU MOM! and Harry pretty much thinks his pap is the most awesome guy (I'd have to agree) so let's figure out how to get home soon!!!

Phew.. anyhow, now that I'm emotional again.. here are some cute pics!

Gram and pap watched Harry for the day so that Steve and I could do the 10 mile East Rim hike at Zion. It was awesome! What an adventure. This route lets you truly experience the diverse geology and grand magnificence that is Zion.

The best part of this hike is the solitude and peace that's all around. We did not pass anyone for over 8 miles.



Oh, yes... EXCEPT for a rattlesnake :( You know, everyone says to watch out for them but you never really think you'll see one. Well, we did. I nearly stepped on him but he rattled and scared the living daylights out of me. I think I jumped back 10 feet. He was HUGE and scary. I almost died!!!!!!!!

I can't believe I'm a mom. I remember last year on Mother's Day when I was anticipating Harry's arrival I was already thinking ahead to 2008 when I would physically have him in my arms to hold. This year was especially great because my mom was in Kanab! We all had a very fun relaxing day (the guys even got in a round of golf!)

Today I ran in the annual Kanab Mother's Day 10k race and I took 1st place in my age division! Yeh! It was especially meaningful since it's my very first Mother's Day, and Harry could be there at the finish line, AND MY MOM was here too! Very cool!

Gram and Pap arrived in Utah yesterday and to be honest, I was slightly nervous. They say that kids Harry's age can have "stranger anxiety" and act a little skitzo around new people.
