:: Spoonman ::

Harry had a very busy and exciting weekend. We are so sad it's over already! boo

Some new milestones:

Harry is now using his spoon. Yay! and eating perky o's! Yipp! He's eating more solids like banana chunks and pear slices, and some brown rice macaroni. It's somewhat of a challenge finding non-allergenic foods that are interesting but we're doing pretty good :)

Some other new foods: asparagus and cinnamon (not eaten together!). YEH!

And harry went to appleby's!! fun!

And here's dad and Harry getting ready to go to Houston's for breakfast!

:: Yes, I'm one of those moms... ::

As packages arrive for Harry's first birthday, I just can't help but give in and let him have one or two :) This one was setting up on our cedar chest and harry spied it... and so naturally I had to let him play with it. It was a bigggg hit!

Lookin cute :)

:: Party til you puke ::

Harry likes to party hard.

Lately he just won't go to bed until 10 pm! That's later than me!! He's a very very happy boy at night... until around 9:30 when we reaches his maximum. But, here are some PRE-Freakout moments from last night.

Harry in his stylish duds.

Now it's around 8:30... "HI DADDDDDDDDD"

"I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy!! Parttttty!!!"

and then... 10 o'clock comes around and things really get crazy. Poor harry freaks out, pukes EVERYWHERE, needs another bath, cries more, finally passes out at 10:20.

(and still wakes up at 7!!!!!! with only one hour nap and sometimes THAT's pushin' it!) Thanks to Daddy for his 'staying up late' genes.

:: Me not sleepy! ::

Life is just sooo much fun for Harry that lately sleep is NOT a priority. Last night the little hyper bug didn't go to bed until 10 pm!! (his usual bedtime is 7) So, today he is mighty sleepy. But he's fightin' it.

Also, Harry is turning ONE in just FIVE WEEKS!! WHAT???? :) So, lots of boxes have been arriving. Harry thinks they are fun to play in.

"hmmmm... what's in the box ma?"

:: A VERY exciting Sunday ::

As you can see, we had quite a riveting Sunday afternoon. :)

"You want me to... smile??!"

"This show is oh so exciting."

As you can see, we lead a VERY crazy life here in Utah :) Par-TAY!

"Daddy, wake up."

Finally, I got a big smile from my cute little son.

Lazy Sundays... just the way we like them!

:: Solo expedition ::

My anxiety level over the past few weeks had been steadily progressing and yesterday I reached my max. I'm not sure what really happened but I had a total, full body meltdown. Maybe it was from being inside 24-7, worrying non-stop about my son's persistent rash, feeling helpless, pessimistic and just BAD. For those of you who know me well, this isn't me. I needed to get out, and reconnect and put things back into perspective.

I went to Zion, alone. I hiked out --- away from the sounds of cars and people. I hiked up as high as I could go (without fearing for my life) and just sat. I sat and I listened. I looked around and and I let go. It was much needed.

On the drive home I watched a stampede of buffalo running through a meadow. It was awesome!

:: First trip to the lake ::

We took Harry to Lake Powell today. It was great for a few reasons. #1: We found out that sunscreen does not make his eczema worse!! YAY! #2: The lake and 100 degree heat also did not make him break out. Double YAY!!! :)

We had quite a hike down to the lake.. Daddy carried Harry. The thermometer was over 100 degrees! Ouch!

:: Get well soon Gma!!! ::

GMa Brader is having surgery on her shoulder this morning so we are all wishing her a very very speedy recovery. We love you Grammy!!

Grandma Williams, Aunt Stacey and Uncle Shawn left this morning to go back to PA. It was sure nice having them here. We had a lot of fun and are counting the days til we can see everyone again.

Yesterday, Harry enjoyed a trip to Houston's and sat in a highchair for the first time there. He was SUCH a good boy.

Daddy, Gram, Stacey and Shawn played golf in the afternoon so Harry and I hung out and jammed to some Reggae music all afternoon. It was so fun, and Harry was ESPECIALLY lovey dovey for some reason, but I enjoyed every second of it.

Harry loves the big front door. He likes watching the dogs and birds.

He also started riding on his little truck. What a big boy!!

:: Hooray for dads! And grandmas, aunts and uncles, too!! ::

First I want to say Happy Father's Day to the best daddy and husband in the world. Harry got his dad an authentic German beer stein. Daddy LOVED it. We love daddy!

Also, Grandma Williams, Aunt Stacey and Uncle Shawn came to visit Harry!!! (and Jill and Steve too) We are so happy to have them here with us.

Aunt Stacey gives Harry a snack.

Harry got lots of fun presents!!

Shawn and I took the pooches for an after dinner walk.

:: Movin' on up ::

Harry graduated to the big boy tub! weeeee! He's really not sure what to make of it. I think, in time, he'll like it just fine :)

"you're freakin' me out daddy"

Let go!!! any day now...

My thoughts exactly

:: Now Playing on Dog TV.... ::

First --- I want to say thank you to all of the nice comments on my last post. Yesterday I was having a slight mommy freakout. I'm doing better today :)

Since Harry can't play with his puppies, he has to settle for second best (just for the moment since we all know he'll grow out of his doggie allergieS!!!! right??!). Second best is watching "dumb and dumber" through the glass of the front door.

Puppies where are you?

There's one..

Mack still gets jealous of Harry, even through the glass. wierdo.

Gandalf says "why is he yelling at me??!!!"

:: A reason to smile ::

I don't usually don't go into all of the struggles, tears and frustrations that accompany having a highly allergenic child with eczema. But lately the stress of dealing, just with the daily acts of living life, have become overbearing. It's draining. I spend a good part of every night after Harry goes to bed just crying my eyes out. I've been told he'll grow out of this and so I guess that is what keeps me going at this time.

Today about an hour after Harry went in for his nap I heard some ruckus, a lot of "singing" and a bunch of "dadddadaddaaddaaas" and entered his room to find him playing with his friends in his crib. So cute. I guess I have to look on the bright side, I certainly have a happy, smart child who amazes me every single second he is awake. :)

"hmm.... how did that monster get into my crib?"

"Please. Get. Him. Out." Harry did NOT like Cookie monster all up in his crib. werd.

:: MOTHRA!! ::

It started out like any other beautiful hike through Ireland... and then something happened... that something was MOTHRAAAAAAAAAAA yes, mothra nearly took Molly's eye out and that was just the beginning.

It was right around this point in our adventures where we stopped to sing the ringtone song... that is such a great song.. it made me all misty eyed.

Ceelelllbrrattionn STATION!!!! DIRT

I found the all seeing eye!!

Molly didn't remember what time it was... or what time it will ever be... or something,

Then we saw a life jacket.

:: Family outing ::

A beautiful Sunday morning calls for a hike through the desert with Harry and the pups.
It's a rare scene.... so much green. Very very pretty!!!

This is actually the first time we all got out for a hike since Harry was diagnosed w/ pet allergies. It was very fun for everyone, especially tae, gandalf and Mackie mack.

Harry thinks his puppies are SO funny. I guess they are!

Hiking always tires Harry out!

Fascinated by the dangling gems...

I tell ya, I must have taken 30 pics of Harry crawling and only a handful got clear... he is just too quick to snap a shot.
