:: MUCH happier HARRY! ::

Harry is feeling MUCH better today. He had only a slight fever this morning and his rash has subsided at least 50% from yesterday! He is sooo happy and running all over and playing with all of his toys. Yipppeeeee!

Some more happy faces :)

:: Merry Christmas! ::

Well with the way the week started we didn't know how Christmas would play out. But luckily Harry is such a little trooper and even though he did not feel like his normal chippy little self, he still managed to play with his trains and snack on some apple cobbler. :)

We got more snow overnight --- I think this is a record for Kanab. At least since WE'VE been here! And more is on the way tonight! Gandalf is very very happy about this.

Even our wierdo cat enjoyed the snow.

Playing under the tree before Santa came.

As I finish this blog at 6 PM tonight, Harry still has a few presents to open. I think that will all change next year :)

Merry Christmas!

:: From bad to worse ::

Harry's rash got progressively worse over the weekend with areas of oozing and blistering. This has been pretty much the worst week of my life, truly. We have been through so much with Harry and his rashes and I told myself I would not post pictures of him looking SO BAD but I know a lot of my friends who also have kids with skin conditions check out my blog and by shedding some light on this, we can all help each other.

We drove over 200 miles round trip -- in the snow and sleet --- yesterday to a pediatrician in Cedar City. We got some good news. It seems Harry just has a basic viral rash but due to his underlying skin condition, his is especially bad. They did some blood work and the dr. is pretty sure he does NOT have fifth disease (which would not be dangerous to Harry -- but would be to ME and my unborn child). I also got some bloodwork done just to make sure.

Harry's tests confirmed that he IS fighting a virus and this will need to clear on it's own over time. It could take a while. He is taking benedryl daily for the itching and his usual steroid (topical) meds to help the eczema (the really rashy bumpy parts are actually the ECZEMA flared up due to his virus). So, even when the virus is out of his system, he'll have the eczema there but we are trying to nip it all at once.

On a very Positive Note, Harry is NOT acting sick. He is a happy boy and got lots of new toys early because his mama felt so bad for him :( he loves matchbox cars (hint hint grammies) and all types of cars, trucks or trains.

Also, before this incident, he has gone 2 months w/ almost no flareups so I'm trying to stay positive and say as all other bad things in life "THIS TO SHALL PASS."

Thanks to all of you for your prayers and good thoughts. We need them (mama more than Harry... I'm a mess).

Merry Christmas.. hopefully less rashy pics to come.

We're in the midst of another biggie --- and Harry watches the snowflakes (It really amazes me how he just hops up on furniture lately)

Now he sees his goofy dogs out there.

Harry wishes he could go play with them!

:: Update on the new bean ::

At my appointment today I found out that the newest member of our family is about 3 inches long and likes to suck his/her thumb and jump around a lot. :) I'm 13 1/2 weeks now and at my next apt I should be able to find out the gender! Yay!

Heartbeat is going strong at 160 bpm, I'm feeling better each day --- more energy, less blahblah... and so all is good...

Estimated due date: June 9, 2009
